Born in 1980. She’s from Napoli, raised at a few steps from Porta Capuana.
In 2004 Marianna graduated summa cum laude in Spanish language and literature with a thesis on the myth of “The Feast with the Statue”. Voted religiously to the cult of food, in May 2009 she has started up Sud Ristorante with Pino Esposito in Quarto Flegreo, in the province of Napoli.
Cooking at your own restaurant is hard work, perseverance, constant bet, and this fact is more true when you choose to start an oasis up in the desert, but with unpredictable speed Sud has become an important fact of gourmet Italian scenario: since 2011 Marianna Vitale and Sud Ristorante score the assignment of many national awards and recognitions.

Best emerging chef
Marianna gets rewarded as italian best emerging chef by "il Sole 24 Ore"
Two and a half years after opening, Sud receives the Michelin Guide Star. The first ever for a restaurant in the Phlegraean Fields.
Best Italian Chef
Marianna is awarded as the best italian female chef for guides to restaurants of "L’Espresso" and "Identità Golose" for the year 2015.
"Impepata" dish of the year
Marianna's Impepata is the dish of the year for Il Mattino.
In 2017 Marianna receives the Identità Donna award by Identità Golose.
On January 19th Angelina take-away gets started in Bacoli.

"Gambero Rosso" Guides choose Sud as best italian pasta restaurant.
Michelin 2020 Female Chef
The Michelin Guides award Marianna Vitale as the best female chef 2020 “for the tenacity with which she has built a quality restaurant project outside the tourist circuits of her region”.
On August 10th a new Angelina shop opens up in Pozzuoli.
Marianna makes the recipe for the new limited "starred" edition of Cornetto Algida ice cream.
